Exclusive to PortfolioPlus and ProSuite subscribers.
When selling through your Galleries using a custom Price List, there will be a few different costs and fees that are important to keep in mind as they will impact how much you will actually earn as Profit.
Product Cost
The Product Cost will include the base cost of print products produced by the lab and/or the cost of processing and delivering a digital download products.
Commerce Fee
The Commerce Fee is associated with selling through your Zenfolio account that includes processing bandwidth and expenses. The default rate is 7% of the order sub-total – excluding sales tax and shipping.
Please note that the Commerce Fee is calculated based on the sub-total of the order. If a discount is applied to an order, the commerce fee will be calculated after the discount. The sub-total refers to the cost of the products before sales tax and shipping is added to the total.
Payment Processing Fee
The Payment Processing Fee is charged by the payment processor, Stripe and/or PayPal, on the final order total – including sales tax and shipping. The exact amount of the Payment Processing Fees can vary based on region and payment processor – 2.9%+0.30 when using Stripe* or 3.49%+0.49 when using PayPal**. You keep the remaining profit, minus any product cost for either print production or digital product delivery.
*If an order is discounted during approval, after being placed, Stripe charges an additional fee on the discounted amount of 1% for USD transactions and 2.9% for non-USD transactions. This additional payment processing fee from Stripe will be seen on Stripes end of the reported payment.
**The standard PayPal rate in the United States is 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction. However, the Payment Processing Fee will vary depending on your country of origin, and there may be additional rate adjustments for clients that are deemed international. Zenfolio's 7% Commerce fee is waived for the first 30 days of new PortfolioPlus and ProSuite accounts to help you get started with selling. After the first 30 days, it is not possible to waive the fees and costs related to selling through your Zenfolio account.
How To View The Fees Collected On An Order?
There are a couple ways that you can view the fees that were charged for the orders placed through your account.

You can also see the fees of multiple orders at a time by viewing your selling Reports.
- In your Zenfolio account, click on the Reports icon on the left-hand side.
- Click on gear icon on the right-hand side and make sure that the Commerce Fee and the Payment Processing Fee is selected to be shown.
- The columns of this information can then be viewed in the list of orders.
Are There Any Fees Involved With Using BookMe?
BookMe is a calendar and booking service that can be added to Portfolio and PortfolioPlus accounts, and is included with ProSuite subscription accounts. Because the BookMe add-on is able to collect payments from your clients, when they book your services, it is a valid question to wonder if the Commerce and Payment Processing Fees apply.
When a client purchases a booking for one of your services through BookMe, Zenfolio's 7% commerce fee is not charged on the payment. However, when a client's payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal, there is a payment processing fee specific to the type of payment used and location.
However, if a package of products is being offered through that service, there will a commerce fee of 7% (calculated on the package sub-total, excluding tax and shipping) and the payment processing fee of 2.9%+0.30 when using Stripe* or 3.49%+0.49 when using PayPal** (calculated on the package total, including tax and shipping).
