We may not always have control over when clients try to communicate or place orders through a Gallery, and occasionally we may overlook checking our email for notifications regarding these activities. However, it is crucial to promptly respond to clients, whether it involves addressing their comments on their photos or approving their orders. By enabling Push Notifications, you can receive immediate alerts about your clients' actions, allowing you to respond to them more efficiently.
Push Notifications are communication messages that are delivered to you via desktop or mobile devices in the form of alerting messages that appear at the top or bottom of indicate that you've received a new text message.
There are two places that you can receive Push Notifications:
Mobile Push Notifications
Adding Zenfolio To Home Screen
If you wish to receive Push Notifications on your mobile device in order to receive immediate notifications while you are away from your desktop computer, it is necessary to first add Zenfolio to the Home screen of your device.
The specific steps to accomplish this will vary depending on whether you are using an iPhone or an Android mobile device.
Adding Zenfolio to iPhone Device Home Screen
- On your iPhone device, go to the default Safari web browser.
- In the browser, go to Zenfolio.com.
- Sign into your Zenfolio account using the appropriate email and password.
- Once the mobile account Dashboard loads, tap on the Safari browser's Share icon at the bottom of the screen.
- In the sharing options, scroll down and tap on the Add to Home Screen option.
- You can then customize the name of the app icon that will be added to the Home Screen, and tap Done.
- Once you return to your iPhone's Home screen, you should now see the Zenfolio app icon to access your account.
Adding Zenfolio to Android Device Home Screen
- On your Android device, go to the default Google Chrome web browser.
- In the browser, go to Zenfolio.com.
- Sign into your Zenfolio account using the appropriate email and password.
- Once the mobile account Dashboard loads, tap on the ellipsis icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- In the options that appear, tap on the Install App option. Then confirm you want to install.
- The app icon will be generated and you will then need to click on Add to actually add the icon to your Home Screen.
- Once you return to your Android's Home screen, you should now see the Zenfolio app icon to access your account.
Subscribing to Push Notifications
After successfully adding Zenfolio as an app to your mobile device's Home Screen, you are now able to enable Push Notifications for your device. If you have not yet added Zenfolio to your device's home screen, please follow the above instructions to do this first.
- On your mobile device, tap on the Zenfolio app icon and sign into your account.
- From the mobile Dashboard, tap on your account icon in the top right-hand corner.
- Choose Account Settings from the option that appears at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on the Account tab.
- In your Account Settings, tap on the dropdown menu.
- Select Notification Settings. Or you can scroll manually to the the bottom of the page to access the Notification Settings area.
- Tap on the Push tab under Notification Settings.
- Tap on the Subscribe button to enable the Push Notifications on this device.
- Your device may ask you to allow notifications, and you will need to select Allow.
- Once you have successfully subscribed to the Push Notifications, you can then toggle ON/OFF the notifications for different account actions, like Orders or Bookings.
- Within each of these notification categories will be options to further customize the what specific actions you will receive notifications for. For example, under Orders, maybe you don't want to receive Push notifications about orders that do not require manual approval.
Unsubscribe from Push Notifications
To discontinue receiving all Push Notifications for your account, please disable app notifications for the Zenfolio app in the notification settings of your mobile device.
Turning off notifications on the iPhone
- On iPhone devices, you will want to to go to the Settings app.
- Tap on the Notifications option.
- Locate the Zenfolio home screen app in the list of apps with notifications. Tap on it.
- With that Zenfolio home screen app's notification options open, you can turn OFF* the notifications.
Turning off notifications on Android devices
- On Android devices, you will want to tap and hold on the app icon that you've added to your home screen.
- A box will appear that gives you options to remove or uninstall, tap on the i icon top open the app information.
- Tap on the Notifications option, and turn OFF* notifications.
*Please note that because the Zenfolio mobile experience has been added to your device as an app you are turning off the notifications for the 'app' itself. When you disable app notifications through your mobile device's settings, this will not turn off the notification settings in your actual Zenfolio account. The Push notifications will only be turned off for that specific device.
Desktop Push Notifications
By enabling Push Notifications for your desktop computer, you will receive notifications on your computer that are similar to calendar reminders or other notifications you receive from websites or programs.
Subscribing to Push Notifications
- In your Zenfolio account, from the account Dashboard, click on your name in the top right-hand corner.
- Choose Account Settings from the dropdown menu that appears.
- Select the Account tab.
- In your Account Settings, select Notification Settings on the left-hand side. Or you can scroll manually to the the bottom of the page to access the Notification Settings area.
- Click on the Push tab under Notification Settings.
- Click on the Subscribe button to enable the Push Notifications in this browser.
- Your browser may require you to further allow notifications and you will need to do this before continuing forward. For example, in Google Chrome you will click on the notifications message on the left-hand side of the address bar, and then click Allow for this site.
- Once you have successfully subscribed to the Push Notifications, you can then toggle ON/OFF the notifications for different account actions, like Orders or Bookings.
- Within each of these notification categories will be options to further customize the what specific actions you will receive notifications for. For example, under Orders, maybe you don't want to receive Push notifications about orders that do not require manual approval.
Unsubscribe from Push Notifications
To stop receiving Push Notifications for your account on a specific browser, you need to disable notifications for Zenfolio in your browser's notification settings. For instance, in Google Chrome, while you are logged into your Zenfolio account, you can click on the site settings icon located on the left-hand side of the address bar and disable Notifications.
The specific steps for disabling notification settings will vary depending on the browser being used. If you are uncertain about how to accomplish this for your particular browser and wish to unsubscribe from Push Notifications, please check the help documentation provided by your browser for instructions on how to disable web notifications.
*Please note that turning off the Zenfolio Push notifications for a specific browser will not turn off the notification settings in your actual Zenfolio account. The Push notifications will only be turned off for that specific browser.
