Zenfolio offers an innovative feature called the Face Finder tool, designed to enhance your photo browsing experience. This tool allows you to filter through an entire Gallery of photos by using a photo of your face, which you can either take directly or upload from your device. Once you provide the reference photo, the system intelligently searches the Gallery to identify and highlight photos containing similar faces. This powerful functionality makes it much easier to locate photos featuring a specific individual, saving you time and effort when sorting through a large number of photos.
For Those Without an Account with the Photographer
If you're visiting a photographer's Gallery for the first time and you've never created an account through this Gallery or another Gallery previously, you will be required to create a free account in order to use the Face Finder feature.
- When visiting the Gallery, click on the
Face Finder icon at the top.
- You will be prompted to enter in your email address, and click Continue.
- If the system does not recognize an account associated with the email address provided, you will click on the Create Free Account button when prompted. If you choose to click on Continue Without Account you will not be able to use the Face Finder feature.
- You will receive an email to confirm the email address and complete the setup process. In that received email message, click on Create Account.
- After being redirected to the Gallery, from the email you received, you'll need to provide your name and create a password for the account. The system will automatically generate a password for you, which can be used, it is just important that you save/remember that provided password if you do use it.
Check the box to agree to the Terms of Service associated with creating an account.
When you use FaceFinder to search for your photos, you’ll first be asked to agree to Zenfolio’s Terms of Service. This confirmation is required before you can upload or take a selfie, as it ensures that you have the rights to use the image you are submitting. Agreeing to the Terms of Service helps confirm your consent for the system to use your photo for identification purposes and helps protect both you and the photographer from potential misuse of images.
Zenfolio does not store or share your selfie beyond its use in the FaceFinder search process. The image is used only to help match you with your photos and is then deleted automatically after the search is complete.
- And then click Continue.
- Now that you've created the account through the Gallery, you will once again need to click on the Face Finder icon at the top of the Gallery. The system will not only recognize that you now have an account, but you will already be logged into that account to move forward.
- When prompted through the Face Finder window that appears, check the box to agree to the terms of service.
- Then click on Continue.
Choose whether you want to take a photo or upload a photo. This photo will be used for facial recognition so that the system can locate your face in other photos that photographer has uploaded to the Gallery.
For the best results, use a photo that clearly shows your full face, looking straight into the camera.
The photo you take or upload will not be stored within our system. The photo is only used for the Face Finder feature to locate the photos in the Gallery that match the face in the provided photo.
- You will then confirm the photo was captured properly and you can move the cropping tool to isolate your face.
- If you need to take or upload a new photo, you can use the replace photo button.
- When you're ready to continue, click on Search Gallery.
The Face Finder tool will use the photo that you've submitted to locate photos within the Gallery that contain the same face, or what it believes to be the same face. In some instances, the system may incorrectly include other faces into the results. However, you can help improve the tool by indicating which photos do not actually include your face. Just hover your mouse point over a particular image and click on the 'Not a Match' icon to remove the photo.
