Exclusive to PortfolioPlus and ProSuite subscribers.
The capability to create and distribute coupons for prospective clients to enhance sales is among the most sought-after marketing features offered by Zenfolio. Coupons can be classified as amount-based (where the specified amount is deducted from the total product cost) or percentage-based (where the percentage is deducted from the total product cost).
Additionally, you have the option to establish a coupon expiration policy that is contingent upon either a predetermined number of uses or a specific date.
When presented with a valid active coupon, clients are permitted to redeem coupons during the checkout process on your website while placing an order.
It is important to keep in mind that if your coupon discounts the total order amount to less than base lab prices, resulting in a negative profit, your customer will not be able to complete their checkout. Please ensure that you take into consideration all costs and fees related to selling a particular product to ensure that clients will be able to place their orders when using coupons. For more information about the costs and fees related to selling, see this support article HERE. |
One Coupon Per Order
Only one coupon may be utilized per order. To apply two separate discounts, it is necessary to create a new coupon that combines the discounts from the two original coupons, which the client can then apply to the order.
Please be advised that it is currently not possible to generate a coupon that offers 100% discount on an order. All orders processed through your website must yield a minimum profit of $0.01. Utilizing a coupon that provides a 100% discount may lead to errors when attempting to view the order subsequently. |
Creating a New Coupon
- In your Zenfolio account, click on the
Selling icon.
- In the Selling section of the account, go to the Coupons tab.
- Click on the Create Coupon button.
- Select whether you want to create a General Coupon or a coupon for just Free Shipping.
Discount Type
You will be directed to the Discount Type section automatically. This section allows you to configure the discount amount that will be applied via the coupon, as well as the applicable products.
Currently, it is not possible to create a coupon that discounts an order by 100%; the final order total must yield at least $0.01 in profit. Attempting to create a coupon for a 100% discount may lead to errors when viewing the order subsequently. |
- Discount Type - Select whether you prefer a percentage-based or amount-based discount.
- Discount - Specify the percentage or amount you wish to apply (e.g., 50%, $50, $20, etc.).
- Minimum Order Amount - If you wish to restrict the coupon's usage until a customer purchases a certain amount, you may set the Minimum Order Amount. For instance, if this is set to $50.00, the coupon will not be valid until the customer is purchasing at least $50 worth of eligible products.
- Description - Utilize this field to provide details regarding the coupon's applicability and the discount amount it offers (e.g., Get 20% off when you purchase $50 or more).
- Coupon Code - Generate the code that the customer will enter during the checkout process. It is advisable to keep this code simple yet distinctive to the type of discount. For example, holiday-related coupons may resemble: LUCKY20, SPRING30, SPOOKY40, MERRY50.
- Number of times each user can use this code - Decide whether this will be a single-use coupon or if you would like each customer to utilize it multiple times. Note: Coupon usage is per client; if you set this number to 1, then each individual client who has received the coupon can only use it once.
- Limit to specific products - If you wish to ensure that the coupon applies solely to specific products, you may do so. Check the "Limit to specific products" box and click on the "Select Products" button. You can then select which specific product(s) this coupon will apply to. Note: You can select specific products, but you cannot specify the quantity of a particular product. For example, it will not be feasible to create a coupon that discounts 50% off the cost of only one 8x10 print. A 50% coupon applicable to 8x10 prints will discount all prints of that size in the order.
Click Apply once you have completed the setup of the Discount Type.
Note: Once the coupon becomes active, these settings cannot be modified. Refer here for further information on how to edit an already active coupon.
