Custom Layout Blocks
The Custom Layout Blocks provide users with comprehensive control over the customization of their website, allowing for precise adjustments regarding the content displayed within each Block. Users can create a fully customizable Block that may include Images, Slidesets, Videos, Icons, Text, and/or Buttons. Should the extensive customization options of the Custom Layout Block appear overwhelming, we also offer over 40 pre-designed layouts that can be populated with your own content and text.
For further information regarding the utilization of the Custom Layout Block, please refer to this support article.
Hero Blocks
Hero Blocks are positioned at the topmost section of your website pages, with the capability to incorporate only one Hero Block per page. Furthermore, the Hero Block offers SEO advantages as it includes the <h1> tag, which contributes to enhancing the page's SEO performance.
The Hero Block can serve as a standalone image that greets visitors to the page (Hero Image), a single video (Hero Video), or a slideshow featuring multiple images (Hero Carousel).
Text Blocks
Text Blocks enable the incorporation of textual content into your webpage. These Blocks can serve various purposes, ranging from welcoming messages for site visitors to providing detailed information about your services.
It is important to note that these Blocks are exclusively for text. If you wish to include an image alongside the text, you will need to utilize a Content Block. Additionally, to insert a hyperlink within the text, you may employ the Text Block in conjunction with a Button Block that contains the desired link.
Image & Gallery Blocks
Image & Gallery Blocks enable the incorporation of photos and videos into your webpage. These Blocks can accommodate a single photo, video, or a combination of multiple photos and videos, presented in Grid, Masonry, or Carousel formats.
It is important to note that these Blocks exclusively display photos or videos. If you wish to include text alongside this media, you will need to utilize a Content Block or insert a text block either above or below the Image & Gallery Block.
Content Blocks
Content Blocks serve to incorporate interactive or combined content elements for client utilization. For instance, the Content (2 Columns) Block facilitates the integration of both images and text on the page. Additionally, there exists a Contact Form Block that enables clients to reach out to you, a Services Block that showcases the services offered, and Featured Galleries Blocks to highlight selected galleries for visitor viewing. Furthermore, a Testimonial Block is available to present endorsements from previous clients, while the Client Login Block provides registered clients with convenient access to their galleries. There is also a Location* Block designed to inform visitors of your studio's location, and a Video Block to embed video content on your site.
*Please be advised that certain blocks may not be accessible to all plan levels.
The BookMe block is exclusively available if you have integrated BookMe (US/UK/AU Only) into your account. Refer to this guide for additional information regarding BookMe.
Social Blocks
Social Blocks can be utilized to display your social media feeds directly on your webpage, providing your visitors with a convenient method to view and follow your Instagram account, for instance.
*Please be advised that social media platforms may update their third-party permissions at any time. If you have connected your social account to the Zenfolio Social Block and it appears to lack an established connection, you may need to attempt to reconnect the social block in order to accept the new permissions set by the social media platform.
Other Blocks
Currently, the Other Blocks section includes Button Blocks, which facilitate the addition of links to your website, whether internal or external. You have the option to incorporate a straightforward button or to include a button accompanied by a title and text.

Removing Blocks
To remove a content block, select the block you want to remove and click on the trash icon in the top right-hand corner of the block.
If you make any changes that you wish to undo, or if you decide you actually did want to make those changes after undoing them, you do have the ability to Undo and Redo the change by utilizing the Undo button and
Redo button that will become active at the top of the website editor when an applicable change has been made.
Note: These Undo and Redo options apply to a wide range of edits and changes made to your website pages, not limited to deleting blocks. The ability to undo or redo will remain available on the page until you exit the Website Editor. Once you leave the Website Editor and return to the page for editing, your changes will be saved and cannot be undone. In such cases, you will need to manually remove and re-add the content to your website.
You will also have a temporary Undo Delete button that will be present at the bottom of the page as an alternate method of undoing the deletion of a block. This undo option will disappear after a few seconds.
Editing Blocks
Upon adding a Block to your site, the options for that Block will automatically be displayed on the left-hand side. If you wish to edit an existing Block, simply click on the Block, and the options will appear on the left.
All blocks added to your website can be configured to display on all or specific device types (Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet). This functionality enables you to customize your mobile site independently from your desktop or tablet site. However, other block types will only provide options that are specific to the content contained within that block.
For instance, a block that contains an image will allow you to select the image you wish to use, modify the focal point of that image, and also determine the alignment. Conversely, a block that contains only text will permit you to select the text alignment but will not provide an option to include an image. To achieve this, you will need to select a block that accommodates both an image and text.
Additionally, you can modify the location, select the layout, or remove the block using the options that will appear in the upper right corner of the selected block.
All changes made will automatically be saved within the Website Editor, allowing you to edit your site without the changes being visible to your clients and other site visitors. Once you have completed all of the changes you would like to make to your website, you can then Publish the changes.
Undoing or Redoing Changes
If you make any changes that you wish to undo, or if you decide you actually did want to make those changes after undoing them, you do have the ability to Undo and Redo the change by utilizing the Undo button and
Redo button that will become active at the top of the website editor when an applicable change has been made.
Note: The ability to undo or redo will remain available on the page until you exit the Website Editor. Once you leave the Website Editor and return to the page for editing, your changes will be saved and cannot be undone. In such cases, you will need to manually remove and re-add the content to your website.
Duplicating Blocks
The Zenfolio website editor makes it easy to reuse your work. If you've spent time designing a block – getting the layout, content, and styling just right; you don't have to start from scratch every time you need it. The Duplicate feature lets you copy blocks onto the current page or carry them over to one or more other pages on your site with just a few clicks.
- Duplicating a Block onto the Current Page
- Copying a Block to Another Page
- Blocks That Cannot Be Duplicated
Duplicating a Block onto the Current Page
If you want to reuse a block right where you're working, duplicating it onto the same page is the quickest option.
- In your Zenfolio account, navigate to the Page inside your Website Editor.
- Click on the block you want to duplicate, and select
Duplicate icon from the Block toolbar.
- A dropdown will appear with two options: Duplicate Block and Copy to Page. Select Duplicate Block.
Copying a Block to Another Page
If you want to use a block you've already built on a different page of your website, use the Copy to Page option.
- In your Zenfolio account, navigate to the Page inside your Website Editor.
- Click on the block you want to duplicate, and select
Duplicate icon from the Block toolbar.
- A dropdown will appear with two options: Duplicate Block and Copy to Page. Select Copy to Page.
- A window will appear. Select the page(s) you want to copy the block to, then click Next.
- When copying to just one page you will see a numbered list of all the blocks currently on that page, showing their current positions.
- Hover over the position number where you'd like to insert your copied block, then click the + button that appears to place the block in that position.
- Click Done.
Note: When copying to multiple pages at once, you cannot choose a specific position for each page, the block is always added to the bottom. After the copy is complete, you will need to visit each page individually and manually reposition the block to where you want it.
A Note on Hero Blocks
If you are working with a Hero Block, you will only see the Copy to Page option, the Duplicate Block option will not be available. This is because each page can only contain one Hero Block at a time. You cannot duplicate a Hero Block onto the same page you are currently viewing, but you can copy it to a different page that does not already have a Hero Block.
Blocks That Cannot Be Duplicated
Certain blocks are limited to one instance per page. If you attempt to copy one of these blocks to a page that already contains that block type, the duplication will not complete.
Blocks with this limitation include:
- Hero Block - one per page
- Contact Form Block - one per page
- Linked Gallery Block - one per page
- Linked Folder Block - one per page
- Client Login Block - one per page
Example: If you're copying a Contact Form Block from your Home page to your About page, but your About page already has a Contact Form Block, the copy will not go through. You would need to remove the existing Contact Form Block from the About page first, or choose a different destination page.
