The Image & Gallery Blocks offer different variations of the same overall purpose – displaying your photos and videos on the website. Whether you want to just display one photo, a rotating carousel of photos, a grid of photos and videos, or even a fully functioning Gallery; this can all be achieved by choosing one of these blocks for your website.
Adding An Image & Gallery Block
- In your Zenfolio account, use the
Website icon on the left-hand side to open the editor.
- Within the website editor, if you have a multi-page website, choose which page you want to edit.
- On that page, click on
icon in the location you want to place this Block, on the right-hand side.
- Scroll down through the Block options and choose one of the Image & Gallery Blocks that you want to add.
Editing The Blocks
Depending on which Image & Gallery Block you choose to add to your site, the options for the Block may differ from others. For example, the Grid Stacked Masonry Portrait/Landscape, and the Grid Blocks all have the same options. However, the Image and Image Carousel Blocks each have their own unique set of options.
Image Block
- After selecting the Image Block for your website, you will first choose what photo you want to use for the Block and what devices this Block will appear on. You can use the Replace Photo button to choose what photo you're wanting to use in this Block. You can either choose a photo that has already been uploaded to your account, or you can upload a photos directly from your computer.
- In the Appearance section, you can choose what Mask (shape) the photo will appear in, and what size the photo will be. You can also choose the Focal point, adjust the alignment, add a shadow, Block dividers, or even a caption to appear under the photo.
- You can then change the Background and Scroll FX if you'd like.
- And lastly a Link can be added to the photo. This will allow you to link visitors to a specific Gallery, Page, or URL.
On the right-hand side of the page, when you have the Block selected, you can control other parts of the Block.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the Block.
- The icon with the + will allow you to duplicate the Block.
- And the trash can icon will allow you to delete the Block. When a Block is deleted there will be a brief moment where you can recover the deleted Block, just use the "Undo Delete" button that appears. Once the undo button goes away, you can no longer recover the Block that was deleted.
Image Carousel Block
- After selecting the Image Carousel Block for your website, you will first choose what devices this Block will appear on.
- In the Appearance section, choose what photo(s) you're wanting to use in this Block. You can either choose a photo that has already been uploaded to your account, or you can upload a photos directly from your computer. You can also choose how fast the images move and whether the photos transition automatically or manually.
- You can then change the Background and Scroll FX if you'd like.
On the right-side of the page, when you have the Block selected, you can control the location and layout of the Block.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the Block.
- The icon with the + will allow you to duplicate the Block.
- You can choose a different Layout for the Block.
- And the trash can icon will allow you to delete the Block. When a Block is deleted there will be a brief moment where you can recover the deleted Block, just use the "Undo Delete" button that appears. Once the undo button goes away, you can no longer recover the Block that was deleted.
Grid Stacked, Masonry, and Grid Blocks
- After selecting one of the Grid Stacked, Masonry, and Grid Blocks for your website, you will first choose what devices this Block will appear on.
- In the Appearance section, you can choose if there's a frame or stroke border around the photos, add a shadow, add Block dividers, and select if you want a Lightbox to display a larger view of the photo when it is clicked.
- You can then change the Background and Scroll FX if you'd like.
- The last option will be to choose what photo(s) or video(s) you're wanting to use in this Block. You can either choose a photo/video that has already been uploaded to your account, or you can upload photos directly from your computer.
On the right-side of the page, when you have the Block selected, you can control the location and layout of the Block.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the Block.
- The icon with the + will allow you to duplicate the Block.
- You can choose a different Layout for the Block.

Linked Gallery and Linked Folder Blocks
- Selecting the Linked Gallery or the Linked Folder Blocks will allow you to place an entire Gallery/Folder onto the page. You'll first need to select the Gallery or Folder you want to display.
- Then on the left-hand side of the page you can adjust the Appearance of the Block.
- You can also use the Gallery or Source section to change what content is displayed in the Block.
On the right-side of the page, when you have the Block selected, you can control the location or delete the Block.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the Block.
- And the trash can icon will allow you to delete the Block. When a Block is deleted there will be a brief moment where you can recover the deleted Block, just use the "Undo Delete" button that appears. Once the undo button goes away, you can no longer recover the Block that was deleted.
Note: It will only be possible to have one Linked Gallery and one Linked Folder on a page, once you use one of these Blocks it will not be able to be used again on the same page.
Slideshow Block
- After selecting the Slideshow Block for your website, you will use the Media section on the left-hand side of the page to choose what images or what Gallery will be displayed in the Slideshow.
- In the Appearance section, you can set the Slideshow's Title and add an additional Body of information.
- The Options section will allow you to choose the size of the images in the Slideshow, and whether or not the images will auto crop to fill the entire slideshow space. Note: Auto cropping will cause the images to be cropped to the space the slideshow has made available for the images.
You can also choose the transition style and speed, whether or not the slideshow auto plays, and if the control and thumbnails are visible.
On the right-side of the page, when you have the Block selected, you can control the location and layout of the Block.
