After creating and uploading a Gallery to your account, you can customize the way it will appear when a client visits that Gallery on their devices. This can be controlled through the Design area of the Gallery.
Choose Gallery Design Template Style
The quickest way to customize a client Gallery, that you've created, is to choose one of the provided Design templates. This will determine the colors, fonts, and other visual aspects of the Gallery design.
- In your account, click on the Galleries icon, and choose a Gallery to view.
- While viewing that Gallery, click on Design.
- Under Design Gallery choose a style that you'd like to use.
Customize Gallery Design Style
After selecting a Style template to use with your Gallery, you can customize the style. For example, if you like everything about a certain style, but you want to change the Background color, you can do this by customizing the Style. Just scroll down below the Style you selected to customize different aspects of that Style.
Cover Options
When choosing from the Cover Options, you will have three main choices for the cover of your Gallery:
- Cover Media will allow you to select a photo that will appear at the very top of the Gallery page. This will act like an introduction to the rest of the photos in the Gallery. With this Cover Media option, you will also have the choice to hide the Shoot Date and/or Gallery Title.
- Title Only will allow you to use just the title of the Gallery itself as the cover of the Gallery. You can also choose to hide the Shoot Date, if you'd like to.
- None will allow you to have no cover options all together.
When you've chosen the Cover Media option, the first photo in the Gallery will automatically be pulled in as the photo being used for this. You can however change the photo and choose the focal point of the photo to adjust how the photo is cropped on screen. The Focal point of the photo will ensure that the primary focus of the photo will always be visible. Note: The cropping of the photo is determined by the browser size that the Gallery is being viewed on.
Background Color
If you'd like to change the Background Color of the Gallery, you can choose from White, Cream, Gray, or Black. The text color of the email will change depending on the background color you choose so that the text is ensured to be easy to ready.
Note: It will not be possible to set a custom background color for Galleries.
Layout Options
To determine where how the photos appear within the Gallery, you can use the Layout Options to determine not only the Layout of the photos, but what information might appear for those photos.
Firstly, if you can choose to show the Display Names OR a Sequence Number for the photos. This will allow your clients to identify the images by name or number. For these settings, you can also choose whether it shows only when the mouse pointer is hovered over a photo, or if it always shows.
Next, if you've added Captions to your photos, you can choose to show them. The Caption will not appear on the main thumbnails page view of the Gallery. However, when an individual photo is select, a lightbox view will appear where the Caption is visible under the photo.
There are various Layouts that can be selected to determine what your photo thumbnails look like int he Gallery. You can choose to make all thumbnails into a portrait crop or a landscape crop. You can also choose to have all thumbnails be grid squares, or stacked one on top of the other, one photo at a time.
Lastly, you can choose how the photos are displayed on Desktop/Tablet and Mobile.
