Facebook (Meta) Pixel is a powerful analytics tool that can be added to your website to understand how visitors are interacting with your website. This information can help you better influence who will see your Facebook ad campaigns to make them more effective.
In order to use Facebook Pixel with your Zenfolio website, you'll only need to provide your unique Pixel ID and Zenfolio will automatically add the necessary code to your website. However, you will first need to make sure you've set up Facebook Pixel before adding it to your Zenfolio website.
*Note: Facebook's interface may change at any time. If the steps provided below do not match with their current UI, you may seek support from Facebook to set up a Pixel.
Creating a Pixel
- Go to the Facebook Ads Manager and log into your Facebook account, if you're not already logged in.
- Click the 'hamburger' icon
in the top left-hand area, and choose Events Manager. - Choose what account/page you want to create the Pixel for.
- Click on the green + Connect Data Sources button.
- Choose the Web option. Then click Connect.
- Create a name for your Pixel. Click Create Pixel.
- Enter your website URL and click on "Check" to make sure it's available to accept a new Pixel. If you've already created a Pixel for the website URL, you may not be able to create a new one using that same URL.
- Select Meta Pixel Only as your connection method. Then click Next to complete the setup and go to your Events Manager Overview. **Zenfolio does not currently support the API option, you must choose Meta Pixel Only.
Obtaining the Pixel ID
After creating the Pixel, or if you've already created a Pixel, you can then use the Events Manager Overview page to obtain the Pixel ID that will be used for your Zenfolio site.
- Visit your Events Manager Overview page.
- Locate your Pixel name on the right-hand side.
- Copy the ID number that is provided.
Add the Pixel ID to Zenfolio
- In your Zenfolio account, click on the
Website icon to access the editor. - Go to the website's
Site Settings. - Under Tracking & Analytics, locate the Facebook Pixel option and paste your Pixel ID into the provided text field.
- Be sure to then Publish your website.
Once your Pixel ID has been added to your Zenfolio site, and you've published your website, you should begin seeing information populate for your website within your Events Manager page, through your Facebook account.
