BookMe FAQs
What is BookMe?
BookMe is an add-on service to your Zenfolio plan or included for any ProSuite subscribers. It offers hassle-free scheduling, bookings, and payments. This all-in-one booking and calendaring solution automates tasks that eat into your day and streamlines others to help you book more and get paid faster. By adding BookMe to your Zenfolio site you can:
- Accept bookings, at least 24 hours in advance
- Create customized shoot packages
- Automatically create Galleries for each booking
- Easy pre-payments and billing
What does it cost?
It is either $10 a month ($0.99 for the first month) or $96 a year to add BookMe to a Portfolio or PotfolioPlus subscription account. For those subscribed to the ProSuite plan level, BookMe is already included with your subscription. Our mission is to provide photographers with a fast and easy way to book jobs. BookMe will upgrade your photography business and should pay for itself in 2-3 bookings.
What currencies is BookMe available in?
Currently BookMe is available in all currencies that are accepted by Zenfolio – USD, CAD, GBP, Euro, AUD, and NZD.
I want to add-on BookMe, how do I get started?
We make it easy to start accepting your bookings as a Zenfolio photographer! Log into your Zenfolio account, and click on the Add-ons icon from the left-hand side of your account pages. Complete your setup within minutes and watch those bookings start rolling in! For an in-depth guide on how to get started, click HERE
Can I set my own schedule?
Yes – We believe in giving photographers the power to set their own schedules within each individual Service created for booking. It is also possible to sync a Google Calendar to BookMe to help further control when you're available to accept bookings.
Can I create my own Services?
Yes – We allow you to determine the Service name, what is included, location, price, if/when you want to accept payments, and more.
Can Clients Book Services With Only 24 Hours Notice?
No – Clients are not able to book a time slot for a service that is less than 24 hours in advance. All services will be offered with a rolling 24 hour cutoff for clients being able to book, all clients must book a service for a time that is at least 24 hours in advance.
Any bookings taking place within 24 hours can be added manually.
What kind of fees are taken from the total booking?
There are no additional fees collected by Zenfolio when Services are booked through BookMe. For information about the Stripe and PayPal payment processing fees, click HERE
Who owns the copyright to the photos?
Photographers always retain the full copyright to all images.
I haven't received any bookings - what can I do?
They say the best things come to those who wait, but we like to take a more proactive approach! Try adding more services, adding BookMe to more pages on your site, or updating your portfolio! You can also try increasing your availability or adjusting your service rate. Pretty soon, your calendar will start filling up!
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations of Services booked are determined between you (the photographer) and your clients. There are no penalties imposed by Zenfolio for cancellations of booked Services.
Can I sync my own calendar with BookMe?
Yes – We understand how important this is! You are able to sync a single Google Calendar to BookMe for further control of your availability.
I don’t use Zenfolio as my built-in home page, how do I get this on my website?
Not to worry! BookMe can be placed on any Zenfolio page or non-Zenfolio website page that allows embedding HTML code. If you use an external home page, you can simply add BookMe to your other Zenfolio website pages – create a 'Services' or 'Booking' page on your website to make it even easier for visitors to locate.
If your external home page allows for embedding custom HTML you can even embed the BookMe widget to your external webpage itself.
Payment Proccessing FAQs
What are the Payment Processors used?
Stripe and PayPal are nationally acclaimed payment processors that are trusted by popular brands and business globally. In addition to being a PCI compliant payment processor, Stripe and PayPal are integrated to work seamlessly with orders placed through your Zenfolio website.
For more information about Stripe, click HERE.
For more information about PayPal, click HERE.
What are the Payment Processing Fees?
For all bookings themselves there will be a Payment Processing Fee imposed by the processor used to accept payments through BookMe (Stripe or PayPal) – 2.9%+0.30 when using Stripe or 3.49%+0.49** when using PayPal.
Additionally, for those that are selling product Packages through their BookMe Services there is a commerce fee of 7% per order (calculated on the package order sub-total, excluding tax and shipping) and the payment processing fee of 2.9%+0.30 when using Stripe* or 3.49%+0.49 when using PayPal** (calculated on the package order total, including tax and shipping). You keep the remaining profit from the package sold, minus any product cost for either print production or digital product delivery.
*If an order is discounted during approval, after being placed, Stripe charges an additional fee on the discounted amount of 1% for USD transactions and 2.9% for non-USD transactions. This additional payment processing fee from Stripe will be seen on Stripes end of the reported payment.
**The standard PayPal rate in the United States is 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction. However, the Payment Processing Fee will vary depending on your country of origin, and there may be additional rate adjustments for clients that are deemed international. For a more detailed breakdown of PayPal's processing fees, please refer to the following links:
How do I get paid?
Payouts are processed automatically – no manual request for payout required. Payments made on BookMe will be delivered within 3-5 business days to your bank account or debit card associated with the payment processor used to accept payments.
Payments processed by Stripe will be paid out through Stripe. Payments processed by PayPal will be paid out through PayPal.
How do I see all of my credit card transactions and payouts?
You can see all of your transactions by accessing the Stripe or PayPal accounts connected to your Zenfolio account. In the BookMe section of your account, go to the Profile page and select Payment Methods. Click on the "Go to Stripe" or "Go to PayPal" buttons to access those specific accounts.
Do I have to use Stripe or PayPal to collect payment?
Connecting a Stripe or PayPal account is a requirement to activate BookMe for tax reporting purposes, at the very least. If you'd like to accept manual payments instead, we have you covered. Although a connected payment processor account is required to accept a credit card or PayPal payment at the time of booking, you can choose to collect payments outside of BookMe by adding an Offline Payment method.
When creating a Service that clients will book, you can also indicate that you will send invoices manually, which will allow you to collect payment however you want outside of Zenfolio. Once you’ve received an alternate form of payment, you can then record the payment and mark your client's invoice(s) as paid.
